A congress and hotel centre laid out around a glass-covered street stairway
A congress and hotel centre next to the Concert Hall in Aarhus. The Centre, which also houses shops and offices, is laid out around a glass-covered street stairway, tackling the 11-metre change of level between the forecourt of the Concert Hall and Sonnesgade at the now disused railway freight yard.
The central street stairway runs diagonally through the building and is equipped with footbridges, lifts and greenery. It is covered by a curved pipe construction, filled in with glass. Other materials include concrete, yellow brick, black marble, granite, aluminium and Jatoba wood for parquet floors.
