The Medical Building is based on ideas and principles of architectural importance for the patients’ experience of safety and quality

The structure of the Medical building was designed on the basis of ideas about interdisciplinary collaboration and positive continuity of patient care. The priority was to consolidate examination and treatment facilities under one roof, resulting in many vertical and horizontal connections. The building has a compact structure with a base topped by two ward towers. In terms of design and materials, the building was structured to achieve a healthy indoor climate and a good working environment. The Medical Building in Aalborg is the result of 10 years of collaboration between the client, the users and the advisors. More than 100 people were involved in the process. The client’s clear concept and capacity to stick to their intentions were a guiding force throughout the process.

The result is a safe, functional building with an abundance of space, tranquillity and views for both patients and staff.
