Fiskarhedenvillan - creating space for life
FRIIS & MOLTKE have designed three unique detached houses for Fiskarhedenvillan with the title: ‘FRIIS & MOLTKE – a setting for life’. Here the interplay of materials, light and atmosphere creates some completely new spatial experiences. They are playful and pleasant. Poetic and practical. Open and intimate. Bright and shady.
The houses possess great functionality, but something more besides. Traditional planning has been expanded to include space for surprises: for playing and being creative and taking advantage of the unexpected spatialities in a personal way. The surroundings are much more than functional; they are active and pleasant. A warm, spirited embrace, which inspires people to experience a house in new ways.
What the three houses have in common is their subdivision into small, private units or core rooms, and an open common room, placed among the cores as the house’s vital heart. Open, shared social spaces and small, secret lairs.
Each house has a close connection to nature. The large windows in the common, social rooms draw the landscape right inside, letting light and atmosphere change in harmony with the seasons.
Every detail contributes to the holistic experience: a symbiosis between emotion and functionality: a home, which transcends tradition, creating a completely new setting for everyday life.
