Inspirational interior decoration to support a positive learning and working environment
FRIIS & MOLTKE Design provided the design for the study furniture and the interiors of the academic and working environments for VUC & HF North Jutland.
The interior decoration is based on the college’s main architectural concept – flexible, open study zones, distributed around a wide seating staircase in the centre of the building.
Flexible interior decoration makes great demands on the choice of furniture. We accommodated this by designing a new modular type of furniture that can be transformed into amphitheatres, lounge, enclosure, benches and tables. The furniture is constructed in oak veneer with solid timber edges, and with a solid flight-case fitting on the side, used when moving and stacking the individual modules.
The solution was the forerunner of our current modular furniture system, Stage, which is manufactured by Holmris.
