Range of lamps with integrated features and a simple, distinctive aesthetic look

Design with a simple, distinctive aesthetic look – a familiar feature in many products from the FRIIS & MOLTKE design department. The new ‘FM Spot’ range of lamps is no exception. If you take a really close look at the individual products in the range – which comprises a pendant lamp, a standard lamp and two wall lamps – you will notice that the simplicity is complemented by surprising processing and functional details.

The lamps were designed to achieve a high degree of functionality. The head of the lamp can rotate 270º, providing a flexible source of light in a room. The switch is discreetly located as an extension of the actual lamp head to underpin the simple look and improve user-friendliness. The wall lamp comes in two different lengths. The long wall light can be folded into the wall or out into the room – as a flexible, elegant decorative element – over a dining table, next to a sofa or above a desk.

‘FM Spot’ is made of aluminium and steel, and is designed specifically for IDdesign and ILVA.

Our inspiration was the classic theatre spotlight. We stripped back the idea of a spotlight to its essence to allow users to add classic simplicity to the lighting in their homes. With its simple, black metal frame, the range of lamps lend a graphic, almost architectural element to any interior.
